About

Dalet Lee (이동연) is a digital spiritual artist who explores the expansion of human consciousness and perception. Since her first solo exhibition in 2023, she has been transforming abstract black-and-white ink drawings into immersive virtual reality(VR) experiences. Her exhibitions are composed of meditative visual images and video works in parallel with three-dimensional, interactive VR art sessions.

Lee studied Virtual Reality at Hongik University’s Graduate School of Film and Digital Media, approaching VR not as an escape from reality,
but as a tool for understanding it more deeply.
Her visual language—consisting of dots, lines, and circles—is grounded in ongoing research and personal practice in meditation, cognitive psychology, energy medicine, and yoga, which explore invisible dimensions of experience. Moving beyond personal belief or intention, she aims to create art that is universal and practical, offering experiential support to those facing psychological hardship, while actively incorporating digital technologies such as AR and XR into her work.

Through this, she seeks a kinder and more scientifically grounded vision of spiritual art for the future. In addition to her artistic practice, she conducts experimental educational programs combining VR and fine art for children in schools, and facilitates digital-based art therapy workshops for individuals in mental health institutions.

Artist Statement

" My digital art is created as a form of meditative practice. It begins with the geometric forms of the fundamental triad—Won (圓)◯, Bang (方)□, and Gak (角)△—which are rooted in Korean cosmology and traditional thought. The work aims to explore the expansion of human consciousness, senses, and dimensions, while fostering spiritual reflection and inner healing.

My work starts from “white,” the state in which all colors of light are integrated and manifest in the material world. It seeks to construct a new “spatial” language that connects inner transformation and immersive artistic experience through a multisensory fusion of symbolic forms and data, in combination with technologies that modern science refers to as the “second light” (electrons, LED, code, pixels, etc.).

Furthermore, this work represents an inquiry into the practical usefulness of spiritual art—a field that is often under-theorized and undervalued in the contemporary art landscape. It is an exploration toward universal and tangible inner reflection and healing experience.

In summary, my work is both a digitally implemented healing methodology and a spiritually engaged practice, refined through the filter of art, in pursuit of harmony between humanity, heaven, and earth (人中天地一). "
